After breaking the cold chain, the drug can be used for 4 weeks - open or closed. Putting it back in the fridge would probably extend the shelf life of an unopened package, but since we have no way to test or calculate it, the suggested solution is simply to wear it out within 4 weeks of being removed from the fridge or disposed of after that time.
