According to the summary of product characteristics, Rybelsus "should not be split, crushed or chewed as it is not known whether this affects the absorption of semaglutide. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a small amount of water (half a glass of water, equivalent to 120 ml)." In addition, the tablet does not have a line that allows division into two equal doses.

Rybelsus is currently available in doses of 1.5 mg, 4 mg and 9 mg.
