Systemic oestrogen exposure remains close to normal with Oekolp (twice weekly when used twice), therefore the risk of developing endometrial cancer is significantly lower than with systemic HRT (e.g. tablets). The safety of long-term therapies exceeding one year has not been determined, so in such cases a systematic check-up with a gynaecologist is recommended. Caution should be exercised when using Oekolp in patients diagnosed with endometriosis outbreaks.
