The use of Fostex may contribute to swallowing problems, most commonly as a result of oral or oesophageal mycosis, which is a known side effect of inhaled glucocorticoids. The sediment from the drug, if not flushed out, weakens the local immunity of the mucous membranes, which, combined with the irritating effect of reflux, can lead to inflammation and swelling that makes it difficult to swallow.
However, it should be remembered that dysphagia can also have other causes related to reflux itself (e.g. narrowing of the esophagus) or be a reaction to other diseases, so it must not be underestimated. It is very important to thoroughly rinse your mouth and throat with water and rinse your mouth area after each inhalation, which significantly reduces the risk of fungal infections.
