Can I restart treatment with Rybelsus after nephrokomy, which was discontinued 4 months before surgery?

Is it possible to return to taking rybelsus after kidney nephroctomy? I should add that the drug was discontinued before the operation 4 months ago?

Rybelsus (semaglutide) is a diabetic drug from the group of GLP-1 analogues and its use is usually not contraindicated after nephroktomy, as long as the function of the remaining kidney is normal.

Before resuming therapy, you should check your kidney parameters and general health, as well as make sure that there are no contraindications to the drug, such as pancreatic disease or severe gastrointestinal disorders. It is recommended to resume under the supervision of a diabetologist, who will select the appropriate starting dose and gradually increase it to avoid side effects. Regular monitoring of blood glucose after resumption of the drug is very important.
