Good morning, we got Montelukast for our son 7 months old (suspected asthma after infection), we have it in tablets to be dissolved in a small amount of milk because it was not available in powder. If your son eats every +/- 2-3 hours. How to use the drug better? Keeping 2 hours after a meal or an hour before? Because it's hard to keep 2 hours after and 1 hour before eating at least. Therefore, please consult the pediatrician who prescribed the drug and recommended such a dosage. In the leaflets of medicines with montelukast, e.g. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/50286/montelukast-bluefish-tabletki-powlekane/ulotka, it is stated that the medicine can be taken independently of meals.
In the leaflet and from the pediatrician, we received information that such time intervals exist, so I wonder which option is the correct one.

Montelukast can be administered independently of meals, so you do not need to keep 2 hours after or 1 hour before eating. With frequent feeding, it is best to choose a fixed time, usually in the evening, and give the medicine in a small amount of milk – regularity is important, not the interval from the meal.
