Does a large amount of unpleasant-smelling discharge after inserting an ankle pessary require a visit to the doctor?

I've been using an ankle pessary for over a week because of WNM. I developed a large amount of secretion with a not very pleasant smell. How to deal with such an ailment. Do I need to go to the doctor or are there any methods to prevent these effects.

The appearance of an increased amount of discharge with an unpleasant odor after inserting an ankle pessary may indicate a bacterial or fungal infection.

Ankle pessaries have holes that allow secretions to drain, but improper hygiene or wearing them for too long can promote the development of infection. It is recommended to maintain proper intimate hygiene, regular check-ups with the gynaecologist and to carefully follow the recommendations regarding the time of wearing the pessary.

If symptoms such as unpleasant odor, change in color or consistency of secretions, itching or burning, you should immediately go to the doctor for a check-up to rule out an infection and treat it appropriately.
