No, Pimafucin is an antifungal used topically for yeast infections of the skin and mucous membranes, and its active ingredient is natamycin. It is not an antiviral drug and is not indicated for the treatment of shingles, which is caused by the Varicella zoster virus.
Antiviral drugs such as acyclovir, valacyclovir or famciclovir are mainly used in the treatment of shingles to help limit the multiplication of the virus and relieve symptoms. Pimafucin will not be effective in treating shingles, so if you suspect this disease, you should contact your doctor for appropriate antiviral and symptomatic treatment.
