Levofree syrup contains levopropizine, which has an antitussive effect, i.e. it relieves the cough symptom, but does not treat its cause.
It is normally used 3 times a day every 8 hours – reducing the frequency to 2 times a day may weaken its effect. If the cough lasts longer than a few days, it is worth consulting a doctor to determine the cause and possible causal treatment.
