If I have vision problems and headaches after Maxitrol, should I use the ointment only on the eyelid?
12.99 zł

Today, my doctor prescribed me MAXITROL ointment for internal chalazion. I have to use it 3 times a day outdoors and inside. Unfortunately, after using it, I have vision problems and a headache. Should I stop using the ointment, or can I possibly only use it on the outside of the eye?

Any side effects you observe should be reported to your doctor who will decide on further action.
We write about why you should report adverse drug reactions here:

If you are not able to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:

According to the manufacturer:

"If a patient experiences symptoms such as blurred vision or other visual disturbances, reference to an ophthalmologist should be considered to determine possible causes, which may include cataracts, glaucoma or rare diseases such as Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSCR), which has been reported following systemic and topical corticosteroid use."

Until you consult your doctor, use the medicine only on the outer part of the eye - i.e. on the eyelid.
