Good morning
I would like to know if ointments and painkiller gels penetrate deeper than the skin and can affect internal organs? Intestine, liver? E.g. Naproxen hasco.
Do these ointments only work on blood vessels?

Analgesic ointments and gels work mainly locally. They penetrate through the skin into muscles, tendons and joints. Only a small amount of substances enter the bloodstream, so they do not reach internal organs such as the intestines or liver to a significant extent. As a result, the risk of systemic side effects is much lower than with pills.
Pain gel with naproxen does not act directly on blood vessels.
It reduces inflammation at the lubrication site, and thus the vessels become less dilated and less permeable – therefore, swelling and redness may decrease.
According to the manufacturer of Naproxen Hasco – the active substance is absorbed into the general circulation to a very small extent (about 1%). Therefore, there is no risk of affecting, for example, internal organs or the entire body.
