Could drinking alcohol 48 hours after the Monovisc injection into the knee have caused the treatment to have no effect?

The alcohol drunk after administration of Monovisc does not affect the effectiveness of the preparation itself, so the lack of effect is not due to this episode.

It should be remembered that the effect of hyaluronic acid may appear gradually, often only after a few weeks, and its effectiveness is individual and depends, m.in on the degree of joint degeneration or lifestyle.

If there is still no improvement after 4-6 weeks, it is worth consulting your doctor to consider other treatments. Until then, it is worth relieving the joint, using exercises to strengthen the muscles and avoid overloading.
