Atoris and Etibax contain different active substances – Atoris is atorvastatin, while Etibax is a combination of ezetimibe and atorvastatin.
Etibax works slightly differently because it combines two cholesterol-lowering mechanisms, which may be beneficial in patients requiring more potent lipid-lowering therapy. Replacing Atoris with Etibax should always be consulted with a physician who will select the appropriate therapy and dose, taking into account the patient's individual needs and possible drug interactions. It is not a simple replacement of one statin with another, and both therapies must be clinically adjusted.
