If you continue to experience severe symptoms and malaise despite the therapeutic concentration of lamotrigine, it may mean that the medicine is no longer effective or is not well tolerated. Some people do not tolerate higher doses well despite normal blood levels. It is worth discussing with your doctor both the possible reduction of the dose and the possibility of changing the medication – especially if the symptoms persist for a long time. You should not change the dosage yourself, but it is definitely worth going for a consultation.
