Can cosmetics containing tea tree, lavender and soybean oils interfere with the effects of Implanon NXT?
12.99 zł

Good morning
I use Implanon NXT as a method of contraception. I use cosmetics containing tea tree, lavender and soybean oils. I have read that they can affect estrogens, showing estrogen-like effects. Is the use of such cosmetics safe for the contraceptive effectiveness of Implanon NXT? Especially if I use them every day.

I would also like to ask if tranexamic acid in cosmetics can affect the contraceptive effectiveness of Implanon NXT? I use it every day.

You can use cosmetics containing the ingredients listed. The skin is a tight barrier and only a few active substances can pass into the deeper layers and penetrate the bloodstream. There is no need to worry; The implant is not impaired.

In case of any doubts, you can use a teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available on our website in the e-visit tab:

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
