Who is eligible for reimbursed prescriptions?
I am new to living in Poland. I see that for those with prescriptions with a discount, they may get up to half of the cost reimbursed. I would like to know more about the prescriptions with a discount. Is this a part of private medical insurance or something else? Thank you

Reimbursement is available to patients who have health and social insurance in the Social Insurance Institution. Such insurance is available to adults taking up work in the Republic of Poland on the basis of, for example, an employment contract. People who are not covered by universal health insurance can take advantage of voluntary insurance. In order to obtain such insurance, you need to report to a branch of the National Health Fund (the list of points can be found on the website https://www.nfz.gov.pl/kontakt/oddzialy-nfz/ ). Not all medicines and health services are reimbursed. Reimbursement for medicines is available to patients suffering from a disease included in the reimbursement indications of a given preparation.
