Is there protection if I am a few hours late with my new Evra patch?

Good morning
I use evra contraceptive patches. After a week 'without a patch' I was supposed to put on a new one (the first of 3) on Thursday evening (usually it was 10:00 p.m.), but I forgot to do it. I applied 1 patch only at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Does this reduce the effect of the patch? Should I use a different type of contraception this week? Thank you for your reply

Protection may be reduced, so as a preventive measure, additional protection in the form of a condom should be used when wearing the first patch from the new pack (for the first 7 days of the new cycle).

The next patch should be applied as usual, on Thursday evening or, if it is more convenient for you, on Friday around 8 am. Both forms are acceptable and contraception will be preserved.
