Hello, I am 8 weeks pregnant, the gynaecologist said that my fasting blood sugar was too high and I went on a fasting sugar curve, fasting blood sugar 5.49 after 1 hour 8.49 and after 2 hour 6.94, is there anything to worry about? And what can you do to lower fasting sugar

According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, the accepted standards for pregnant women are as follows:

fasting: below 92 mg/dl (5.1 mmol/l),

after 1 hour: less than 180 mg/dl (10 mmol/l),

After 2 hours: less than 153 mg/dl (8.5 mmol/l).

I encourage you to consult the results with your doctor in charge of the pregnancy due to the elevated sugar level in the fasting test. The basic recommendations in the case of gestational diabetes risk are: systematic glycemic control, proper diet and physical activity. In some cases, appropriate pharmacotherapy may be necessary.
