What can I take instead of Calcium Dobesilate 250 mg if it causes severe stomach pain?

I have been ordered Calcium Dobesilate 250 mg every other day. And my stomach hurts terribly after it. And I have to take them. What can I accept in return?

As a pharmacist, I do not recommend replacing the drug without consulting a doctor.

If Calcium Dobesilate is causing you stomach discomfort, it is worth consulting your doctor to consider alternative medications such as diosmin, hesperidin, or other phlebotonic medications. You can also try taking Calcium Dobesilate after a meal or in combination with stomach shielding medications (e.g. proton pump inhibitors or antacids). However, you should not change your treatment on your own without consulting your doctor.

I encourage you to report the symptoms you experience to your doctor, as well as to report the occurrence of an adverse effect of the preparation. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market. We wrote more about how and why to report side effects in the article:

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
