First, you should assess what kind of cough you are currently experiencing.
Dry cough, in which no mucus is observed during expectoration (but there is a sensation of shortness of breath), can be alleviated with cough suppressants that suppress the cough reflex, e.g. Levopront, Supremin, Thiocodin. If the patient begins to observe the secretion, feels the mucus moving when coughing, then we speak of wet cough and use medications that thin and facilitate the removal of phlegm. Such drugs are, for example, Erdomed, ACC, Mucosolvan and Phlegamine. Inhalations also have a supportive effect.
