Escapelle used quickly enough (up to 72 hours after intercourse) is an effective method of emergency contraception. The effectiveness according to the manufacturer is 84%. The sooner the preparation is applied, the greater the effectiveness.
The percentage of pregnancies despite the use of emergency contraception is approximately about 2% (2 in 100 women will become pregnant).
If menstrual bleeding is delayed for more than 5 days, or if you experience unusual bleeding on the day of your expected period, or if you are otherwise suspected of becoming pregnant, pregnancy should be ruled out.
