Hello! I have a question - I had alcoholic epilepsy several times. I went through rehab and was given medication that caused a lot of swelling of the eyes and they are very blue. I also currently have itchy skin and red spots.
The doctors continue to examine and do not know what is wrong with me. I am currently taking the same medication as in the picture, could this be a side effect ?

Theoretically, each of these products can cause an allergic reaction.
However, the most likely is that it was Neurotope that caused these types of symptoms. It is necessary to change the antiepileptic drug.
According to the manufacturer:
"The presence of the HLA-A*3101 allele may increase the risk of skin reactions (mostly lighter) in individuals of European descent from 5% in the general population to 26%, while the absence of this allele may reduce the risk from 5% to 3.8%."
To find out if this reaction is caused by Neurotop, you can perform laboratory tests of the HLA-A antigen (from what I have been able to determine, it is not reimbursed and the price is about PLN 600), so it is worth discussing the validity with your doctor. Perhaps a better solution would be to change the method of treatment.
Cezera is an anti-allergic drug that should alleviate, m.in itching, swelling, etc.
If the therapy does not bring the expected results, it will most likely be necessary to implement oral steroids.
Since these drugs are only available on prescription, their use must be decided by a doctor.
