According to the information in the SmPC, no preclinical data are available from studies of peri- and postnatal toxicity of etanercept and the effect of etanercept on fertility and general reproductive capacity. Therefore, there is no evidence that the drug has any negative effect on male fertility. The drug has the potential to affect sperm quality (e.g. sperm motility), but this has not been conclusively proven. In my opinion, there is no need to refrain from trying to have a child. If in doubt – I recommend consulting a doctor.
