Aklief is a trifarotene-containing medication that belongs to the group of retinoids and is used topically to treat acne vulgaris. It is usually recommended to avoid retinoids (both oral and topical) if you are planning a pregnancy, as they can cause malformations in the fetus. Although the risks associated with topical retinoids are lower than with oral use, there are still some risks. If you are trying to conceive, it is important to consult with a dermatologist or treating doctor before starting or continuing to use Aklief.
