Hello. My 9-year-old has been taking Polfenone for six months (he has ventricular arrhythmias). Reading the leaflet, the drug should not be used in children under 18 years of age.
So, is this medication safe for my child?

Hello, my son has also been taking Polfenone three times a day since he was 5 months old. He is currently 16 months old, also for ventricular stimulation. Can you tell us what dose your child is taking?

It is very good that you have read the leaflet of the medicine carefully.
In the case of your child, Polfenon has been prescribed for "off-label" use. This means that the doctor has decided to use the drug outside the registered indications (i.e. he has included therapy for a child under 18 years of age).
There is always a danger of side effects during drug therapy, but in some cases, the benefits of taking medication outweigh the risk of side effects.
If you have any doubts about whether a particular medicine is suitable for your child, consult your doctor.
I encourage you to read the following article:

You can check the availability of Polfenon here and make a reservation at the pharmacy of your choice:

Be sure to choose the right dosage.
