Are the red longitudinal welts on the inside of the forearm a side effect of Levoxa and is it dangerous?

Hello. I've been taking the antibiotic Levoxa 500 for 8 days. On the inside of my forearm, I noticed red longitudinal welts on the skin on both sides of my hands. Whether it is a side effect of the drug and whether it is dangerous. I don't feel any pain or itching.

The red, longitudinal welts on the skin on the inside of your forearms may be a side effect of the drug, but you can't tell for sure from a single photo and a short description.

If you have noticed these skin changes after starting to take the antibiotic Levoxa, I encourage you to consult your doctor. It is the doctor who decides on the possible treatment of the patient, m.in. on the basis of the patient's medical history and previous response to treatment. Only the doctor can decide whether to change the pharmacotherapy. If you do not have the opportunity to take advantage of the advice, I am attaching a link to the online teleconsultation:

If you do not feel any burning or itching, it means that the symptoms are not dangerous to your health.

I encourage you to report the symptoms you are experiencing to your doctor, as well as to report the occurrence of an adverse reaction of the preparation. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over the medicines available on the market. We wrote more about how and why to report side effects in the article:
