The dark colour of the stool is temporary and should disappear within a few days after stopping treatment with Pylera.
Dark stool is a very common side effect of Pylera (it affects more than 1 in 10 people taking Pylera).
It is caused by bismuth, which is a part of the drug, which is removed from the body with the faeces.
