Can I increase the dosage of Hydroxyzinum if it doesn't work for me?

I have been prescribed hydroxyzine in syrup and I am to use it only temporarily in sudden attacks of anxiety, neurosis, 5-10 mg. I took hydroxyzine 5mg yesterday and didn't feel any difference. I didn't feel any sedation or drowsiness. Nothing at all! Can I increase the dose? I mean, can I take a dose of 10 mg or a little more today, for example? Because, as I wrote, it doesn't work for me at all, and apparently it should after taking it.

Do not increase the dose yourself. If you also do not feel any improvement after taking 10 mg, it is worth reporting it to your doctor. Modification of treatment may be indicated.
