When is Eliquis 5 mg reimbursed?

Eliquis 5mg, according to your table, is reimbursed for seniors in the amount of 56 pcs.

My question is:
- Can it be reimbursed for a senior 75+ with atrial fibrillation? - Doesn't a doctor who prescribes 60 tablets for such a person aged 75+ with atrial fibrillation automatically eliminate the possibility of reimbursement for this drug?

To @este:

1. Can it be reimbursed for a senior 75+ with atrial fibrillation?

Unfortunately not. Atrial fibrillation is not a reimbursement indication for Eliquis.

2. Doesn't a doctor by prescribing 60 tablets for such a person 75+ with atrial fibrillation automatically eliminate the possibility of using the reimbursement for this drug?

Yes, if a doctor prescribes a package of 60 tablets for a person over 75 years of age, it will result in the loss of reimbursement, because it is a package outside the reimbursement list.

Eliquis 5 mg is reimbursed in the following indications:

1) Treatment of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism

2) Prevention of recurrent deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism

If the doctor prescribes the drug in a package of 56 tablets in the reimbursed indication and marks the "S" entitlement (for people over 65 years of age), the drug can be dispensed free of charge from the pharmacy.

The use of the drug in an indication other than those mentioned above, e.g. in atrial fibrillation, is not reimbursed. The patient then pays a fee of 100% of the fee. Also, if your doctor writes a prescription for Eliquis in a pack of 60 tablets (non-reimbursable pack), you pay the full price of the medicine.

I am attaching a link that allows you to check the availability of the drug and make a reservation at the pharmacy of your choice:
