If I am infected with human roundworm, should I be treated again after a few weeks and should my husband also take medication?
Good morning. I've been healing from worm for quite a long time. I've already taken zentel and ter vermox one pack. Do I have to come another pack after 2 weeks to effectively cure this worm? And does my husband also have to take this medication if he doesn't have any symptoms? Because one doctor says yes and the other says he doesn't have to. So what's it like?

According to the manufacturer of Zentel, "If the patient has not been cured, it is advisable to re-treat after three weeks."
As these medicines are available on prescription, the final decision to repeat treatment should be made by your doctor.
Since it is not possible to become infected with human roundworm through direct contact with an infected person (roundworm eggs must mature in the soil for several weeks before becoming invasive to humans), there is usually no need for people living in a shared household to undergo treatment. In suspected cases, diagnostic tests should be performed for possible human roundworm infection. There is no need for mandatory stool testing for all family members and prophylactic treatment.
