Testing for sexually transmitted diseases can be done in a diagnostic laboratory. It is best to discuss the scope of such tests with a gynaecologist (in the case of women) or a dermatologist-venereologist (in the case of men). In some cases, it is the doctor who takes the sample for testing during a visit to the office, while some diseases can be tested by donating a blood sample.
