Tamsulosin (contained in Adatam) is a substance used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which can cause problems with urination. Tamsulosin acts on the smooth muscles within the prostate gland and urethra, reducing the resistance of urine outflow.

In general, tamsulosin is designed to act selectively on alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in the smooth muscle of the urinary tract, which helps to dilate them and improve urine flow.

The effect of tamsulosin on potency can be observed to some extent, especially in relation to some side effects. Some patients report erection problems or other sexual dysfunctions when using this substance.
