Is brown discharge instead of withdrawal bleeding normal?
I take the tables of atywia, I don't happen to skip a pill, I additionally protect myself with condoms. However, instead of the normal, more profuse withdrawal bleeding, I only have brown mucus or scanty spotting. Is this normal? Should I see a gynecologist or take a pregnancy test?

As a pharmacist, I can only give you general information:
Noticing a brown discharge instead of the typical withdrawal bleeding while using birth control pills can cause some concern. However, this is not always related to pregnancy. Here are some possible causes:
Starting to use birth control pills: Once you start using birth control pills, your body may need some time to adjust. Changes in hormones can affect the type and amount of bleeding.
Changing pills: Changing the brand of birth control pills or the way you take them can affect your withdrawal bleeding.
Hormonal changes: The hormones in birth control pills can affect the structure of the lining of the uterus, which can lead to a change in the color of the blood.
Gynecological infections or problems: Also, infections or other gynecological problems can affect the appearance of bleeding.
If this is the case, you should consult your doctor for more personalized advice. If it is not possible to visit the site, I encourage you to take advantage of the teleconsultation via e.g. the Gdziepolek.pl portal:
I would like to add that this month I used the antibiotic Sumamed for 3 days and traveled.
