To @Anna:
If you currently have sexually transmitted diseases, inserting an IUD, including a copper one, may be associated with the risk of infection.
These diseases should not affect the effectiveness of the copper IUD itself in preventing pregnancy, but they may increase the risk of infections within the reproductive system. Before deciding to insert an IUD, it is worth consulting a gynaecologist who will assess your health, the course of sexually transmitted diseases and choose the safest solution.
The answer to your second question can be found in a similar thread:
I have sexually transmitted diseases, can I insert a hormone-free IUD with copper and silver during this time?
Will it affect the effectiveness of contraception?
These diseases will cause the IUD to not work ?

The copper IUD is a very effective method of contraception, practically insensitive to errors of use. A big advantage of the IUD is that the woman is constantly protected against pregnancy from the moment the IUD is inserted, and the risk of pregnancy during its use is very low. If the IUD is inserted within 5 days after unprotected sex, the woman is 99% protected against pregnancy.
An exception may be made if the cylinder has slipped out. In this case, an emergency contraceptive such as Escapelle can be used. It does not interact clinically relevant with the IUD.
Emergency contraception itself is also an effective method in case the method used has failed. For more information, go to: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/tabletka-po-czyli-antykoncepcja-awaryjna
