Good morning. What is the difference between fish oil mollers or OmegaMe preparations and SmartMe and Estrovita Skin? Is the use of these preparations together advisable or not? Are omega 3 acids or omega3-6-9 combinations more important? In some preparations there is more EPA, while in others more DHA - which is better to choose? What proportions are recommended in consumption?

The appropriate ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 acids in the diet should be about 1:5. Among Poles, omega-3 deficiency is very common, while omega-6 is extremely rare, which is why it is mainly recommended to supplement omega-3 acids themselves. Preparations containing omega-6 acids derived from borage or evening primrose oil are recommended mainly for people m.in struggling with dry skin and AD or premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Omega-3 acids are EPA and DHA (found mainly in fatty fish, seafood, algae) and ALA (found m.in in linseed, rapeseed, soybean and walnut oils). Omega-6 acids are LA (including sunflower oil, safflower oil, grape seed oil) and GLA (m.in borage seeds, evening primrose, hemp oil). Omega-3 are responsible, m.in for the proper functioning of the heart and the functioning of the circulatory system (they lower triglyceride levels, have anti-atherosclerotic, anticoagulant and antiarrhythmic effects), the development and functioning of the brain and eye, and support immunity. Omega-6 primarily has a beneficial effect on the skin, hair and nails. For prophylactic purposes, preparations containing approx. 0.5 g of EPA + DHA / capsule can be used. Their proportion does not matter.
