Augmentin is an antibiotic composed of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, which is mainly used to fight bacterial infections. Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that is not caused by a bacterial infection. There is no evidence or scientific research to support that Augmentin is effective in the treatment of psoriasis. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that requires a specialized approach to treatment. Common treatments for psoriasis include the use of corticosteroid ointments, light therapy, immunosuppressants or biologics that affect the immune system.
