How do Dionelle tablets interact with Neurotop Retard?

Hello. I would like to ask how Dionelle tablets interact with Neurotop Retard 300. Does it make sense to take birth control pills with these neuroleptics?

Neurotop Retard may affect the way hormonal contraceptives, including Dionelle tablets, work, and are less effective in preventing pregnancy. Carbamazepine (the active ingredient in Neurotop Retard) stimulates liver enzymes that metabolize hormones. Their increased work causes that the concentration of contraceptives in the blood is too low to effectively protect the patient against pregnancy. Therefore, it is recommended that you consult a doctor who will individually discuss with you the most appropriate type of contraception while you are taking Neurotop Retard.
