Trulicity contains dulaglutide, while Ribelsus contains semaglutide. These substances belong to the same group of drugs - they are analogues of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). However, the molecules of these substances differ in structure and size. In addition, Trulicity is given subcutaneously and Rybelsus is available as oral tablets. Therefore, these drugs, due to the different form of administration and pharmacokinetics, cannot be treated as substitutes. Therefore, the decision on a possible modification of treatment can only be made by the attending physician. In your case, please consult the doctor who conducts your therapy with the listed medications and present any alarming symptoms. On this basis, the doctor will make an appropriate decision about a possible change in therapy. Please do not stop your prescribed medication or modify your treatment.
