Hello. Can contraceptive patches be used only for 2-4 months and discontinued after this time? Does such a short period of time of contraceptive use have any consequences after discontinuation of contraception?

There are no top-down limits as to the time of using contraceptive patches - this time is determined by the gynecologist, m.in. based on the results of the patient's examinations. Discontinuation of hormonal contraception is associated with the risk of side effects (e.g. menstrual disorders, temporary excessive hair loss), regardless of the duration of use. They occur uncommonly, only in some patients.
