What to do if I have hot flashes and nausea after Apo-Serta?
Good morning, I am 14 years old and since July I took 50mg aposerty in January after the visit I increased the dose to 75mg and after 2 weeks as in the recommendation to 100mg. There were side effects: nausea, a feeling of heat. I stopped taking them, and a few days ago I returned to 50mg, but again there were problems: nausea, feeling hot, severe abdominal pain. What could be the reason and should I continue to use them despite feeling unwell?

Because ApoSerta is a prescription drug, your doctor should decide whether to change your dosage. Hot flashes and nausea are some of the common side effects of this drug, so all the more reason to consult your doctor. Perhaps now it will be necessary to start therapy with a dose of 25 mg. According to the manufacturer: "Sudden withdrawal should be avoided. When discontinuation of sertraline, the dose should be reduced gradually over a period of at least one or two weeks to reduce the risk of withdrawal reactions. If worrying symptoms occur during the dose reduction period or after discontinuation of treatment, resumption of the previous dose should be considered. Your doctor may then continue to reduce your dose, but more slowly and more carefully."
