Will Saxenda get rid of excess water in the body?

Good morning, My question is related to the drug "Saxenda" injectable. I have insulin resistance, I fight obesity. I recently had an episode related to unhealthy food and such food makes water in the body. As a result, my face swells quickly, unnaturally. So I wanted to ask if this drug has an effect on the water level and whether it will bring its level back to normal faster?

Saxenda does not reduce water retention. The active substance is liraglutide. It resembles the human hormone GLP-1, which is secreted after a meal in the intestines. It affects the receptors that control appetite in the brain - it binds to the GLP-1 receptor and then activates it, reducing the feeling of hunger and causing a feeling of satiety. You can read about how to deal with the problem of water retention in the body here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/fakty-i-mity-o-zatrzymaniu-wody-w-organizmie Perhaps it is worth temporarily drinking an infusion or nettle juice, which has diuretic properties, will help remove excess water and positively affects the regulation of blood sugar levels. Nettle preparations can be bought online, also with home delivery, e.g. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/85840/zielnik-apteczny-pokrzywa-fix-liscie/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/104822/ekamedica-pokrzywa-plyn/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/86114/ziola-w-tabletkach-pokrzywa-tabletki-powlekane/apteki
