Hello I got from the doctor macromax 6 tablets. How long does it still work in the body after selecting all the tablets. Because from what I know it is an antibiotic with prolonged action, but I can not find anywhere how much time. Best regards

The biological half-life of azithromycin (the active ingredient in Macromax) is long and can be up to 68 hours in the final elimination phase (information that it is between 2-4 days), so it is possible to take it only once a day for a relatively short time - generally several days. It was found that the therapeutic (i.e. quite high, therapeutic) concentration of azithromycin in the tissues persists for about 5-7 days after the last oral dose, while the complete elimination of the drug (i.e. when it is no longer in the body at all) may take up to about 17 days. The exact duration of the drug in the body and its elimination may be individually variable, hence the data are given as a range or with the annotation "approximately". I enclose additional information about the drug Macromax - the prescription product can be booked at WherePoLek and collected stationary upon presentation of the prescription, and I also link to our article on antibiotic therapy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/45653/macromax-tabletki-powlekane/apteki/w-warszawie https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/fakty-i-mity-o-antybiotykach
