Measurement of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is primarily used to confirm and assess the development of pregnancy. As a rule, therefore, it is not used to detect cancer. However, if a patient who is definitely not pregnant develops high levels of beta-hCG, this may suggest that the hormone is secreted by, for example, ovarian cancer cells. In men, however, it can be produced by some m.in testicular cancer. Individual types of cancer have characteristic markers, but also symptoms. If the disease is suspected, the doctor should suggest appropriate diagnostics. I enclose materials that may be helpful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/nowotwory
