Good morning, a woman over 60 has been taking Prokit twice a day since September 2023 to improve the movement of the gastrointestinal tract. In recent blood tests, elevated levels of biliburin 2.52 mg urea 61.5 mg were found. After a few days, biliburin jumped to 2.86 mg. We are looking for the cause Could taking this drug have caused such elevated values? I know it occurs in side effects, but the family doctor says there is no connection. We wonder what is better to consult another family doctor or refer to a gastroenterologist?

An increased bilirubin side effect has been reported with an unknown frequency of Prokit. Unfortunately, specific values of the change in bilirubin levels are not given when taking Prokite. While it can be assumed that the elevated level alone could have caused Prokit, a jump in values in a few days may seem less likely. In general, elevated bilirubin levels can result from taking Prokit as well as other reasons. To find the specific cause, further diagnostics are necessary.
