Can I use Amotaks for a sore throat because I have left over from a previous infection?

Very sharp sore throat for several days, taking anti-inflammatory drugs, throat, gargling with salt, nothing helps.. The doctor I go to does not accept. Can the drug amotaks that I have left from a previous infection in the throat, I can use for this acute sore throat?

No, Amotaks is an antibiotic that should only be used if your doctor has a bacterial infection. In about 80% of adult patients, the sore throat is not caused by bacteria, but by viruses, and the antibiotic does not act on viruses. Usually, if the sore throat is associated with a past viral infection, it is worth looking at what exactly was used for this purpose and what other symptoms are. From my own experience, it often turns out that patients abused local analgesics, forgetting to moisturize, coat the mucosa and drink the right amount of fluids. If the cause of a sore throat is a viral infection, then very often the throat still hurts, because it is dried. I encourage you to use moisturizers (thyme and coltsfoot, lozenges with Icelandic lichen, honey) and home remedies such as flax jelly, I leave a link to the video below, in which we explain how to prepare it. You will find throat coatings in this category. They can be ordered online using GdziePoLek with home delivery or collection at the pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/bol-gardla Here with Icelandic lichen: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/substancje/tarczownica-islandzka If the condition worsens or is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever above 38.5 ° C, it is worth going to the doctor who is currently available to make sure that it is not a bacterial superinfection. Then he may recommend the use of antibiotic treatment. Here we explain the facts and myths about antibiotics: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/fakty-i-mity-o-antybiotykach
