Hello, does Encorton reduce the effectiveness of oral contraception? I take birth control pills Atywia, the doctor prescribed me Encorton. Will there be no reaction? Encorton (steroid) and Levopront (dry cough syrup) do not reduce the effectiveness of oral contraception. You do not have to use additional methods of contraception. However, there is another drug interaction between Atyva and Encorton. Birth control pills intensify the effect of the steroid - both therapeutic and toxic (side effects). If the prescriber of Encorton has not been informed about the medicines you are using, you should consult again. You may need to adjust the dose of the drug.
