I used a 0.25 Ozempic pen for the first time today. I checked the flow, a drop appeared. I stuck the needle in my stomach and just pressed the button, but I didn't hold it for the whole thing. The meter turned to position 0. I kept the inserted needle for 6 seconds. Has the drug been administered? Even though I just pressed the button, I didn't hold it? And the indicator returned to position 0. I do not see that the drug has disappeared.

I did exactly the same today and so frustrated with myself. Am looking online to see if it is still ok. Was first time taking it. Hopefully it still went in but nothing I can do til next weeks dose and make sure I do it properly that time.

When administering Ozempic according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer, keep the injection button pressed while the needle is inserted into the skin. Then count slowly to 6, remove the needle and then release the button. If the needle is removed earlier, the solution may leak from the needle tip. In this case, the full dose will not be given. If you have not noticed that the solution is leaking from the needle or from the injection site - it is very likely that the dose was given correctly after all. However, please hold the button and the needle under the skin for a longer time. As for whether the drug should be lost - in the case of a 0.25 mg pen, the lack of a visible difference in the amount of solution in the pen window is not a cause for concern. The difference may not be noticeable. By the way, I remind you to change the needle in the pen regularly.
