Can metformin, Trulicity and Mysimba be used together?

I am currently on Metformin 500, 2 tabl/2xdaily and Trulicity 3.0mg injections. Today, during the check-up, the cardiologist prescribed me additional Mysimba tablets. Can I combine all these drugs together?

As for metformin and the combination of these drugs, to the best of my knowledge there is no risk of clinically significant interactions that require individual dose adjustments or cause dangerous symptoms (although a theoretical risk of interaction exists). If your doctor was not told you to use Trulicity before you were prescribed Mysimba, you may want to talk to him or her about whether he or she wanted to use this combination (especially if Trulicity is used more to control your weight than to control your blood glucose). It is true that it is not recommended to use drugs from these two groups at once in weight control, but to my knowledge it is also not always contraindicated, because they work using different mechanisms (Mysimba helps more in controlling the hunger and satiety center, the reward center and thus controlling food intake, while the drug Trulicity to some extent also, but additionally affects m.in regulating insulin secretion in response to blood glucose after a meal). To sum up - it depends on the situation, the needs of the patient and the effect that the doctor wanted to achieve.
