I have been taking budesonide for a cold for 4 days. Can I put it away myself?

I have been taking Budesonide (cold) for 4 days. I guess I'm coughing more, I have the impression that this is not it. I'm 67 in the queue to see a doctor! I have no one to ask: can I stop taking this medicine myself?

Budesonide is a prescription-only substance, so you should not take the medicine that contains it yourself. Budesonide is a glucocorticoid with a strong local anti-inflammatory effect. It affects symptomatically the development of inflammation, not acting on the cause - if there is no reason for its use (and a cold is not such a reason) - the drug should be discontinued. Colds are treated symptomatically - that is, if there is a persistent cough that hinders functioning - cough remedies are used. If, for example, a runny nose - nasal cleansing or mucosal decongestants. I leave a link to a video in which we explain what substances and when it is used for colds:

If the symptoms do not go away within 7 days or the condition worsens significantly - it is worth contacting a doctor.
