In the short term, decongestants such as m.in xylometazoline may be used when using nasal steroids, in this case Aleric spray. However, I pay attention not to use these drugs one by one, and to keep at least an hour interval between them. I would like to point out that we use drugs with xylometazoline for a short time, i.e. 5 - 7 days. This is related to preventing the nasal mucosa from "getting used to" and preventing it from drying out excessively while using this medicine. I would also like to emphasize that a much better form of administration of this drug is the form of an aerosol / nasal gel than drops. In the case of the latter, there is a high risk that a large part of the dose will be swallowed, which on the one hand causes a weaker local effect, and additionally increases the risk of systemic side effects to some extent. Preparations with xylometazoline available in pharmacies, along with the possibility of booking them, can be checked in this link: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/substancje/xylometazoline. It is worth choosing preparations with the addition of hyaluronic acid or dexpanthenol, which prevent excessive drying of the nasal mucosa. Unlike xylometazoline medicines, Aleric should be used daily. If after 2 - 4 weeks of regular use, Aleric will not bring any improvement, it is worth contacting your doctor for further diagnosis. I attach a link to the article, in which you can read more about the correct method of intranasal application of the form of drugs: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-stosowac-krople-do-nosa.
